Working Together to Make a Difference in Perinatal Mental Health

As part of the Infant Mental Health Framework for Northern Ireland, AWARE provides support and education to new and expectant parents across Northern Ireland.

We believe that the more you learn about you and your baby’s mental health during and after pregnancy, the better equipped you are to manage it.

AWARE is also part of the 'Everybody’s Business' campaign and the Maternal Mental Health Alliance, campaigning for services to support the mental health of both parent and child in Northern Ireland.

In addition, we also work alongside and in partnership with various organisations across the region to bring a message of hope, education and support to all parents.

We are delighted by the news that Health Minister Robin Swann has approved funding for specialist perinatal mental health services across Northern Ireland.

This funding will see the development of a new Perinatal Mental Health Delivery Model, including specialist multi-disciplinary perinatal teams in each of the 5 trusts.
