It is important to understand the symptoms of depression in order to be able to spot these either in yourself or someone you know who you think might be suffering from the illness.
AWARE recommends seeking urgent help from a GP if any of the following symptoms lasts for more than two weeks:
Wishing not to be alive anymore
The number and severity of symptoms being experienced will determine whether the depression is diagnosed as mild, moderate or severe. It is important to visit your GP if you are experiencing any of these symptoms for more than two weeks.
