Due to the developing Covid-19 situation and the resulting health and safety concerns, AWARE has suspended all support groups and wellbeing programmes until further notice. We have also had to postpone some of our fundraising events (see below). The safety of our service users, staff and supporters is of utmost priority and unfortunately these measures are necessary to keep everyone as safe as possible.

We recognise the strain that the new social distancing measures will place on the mental health of many, and we want to continue to be a source of support to those who need it. Therefore, we are taking steps to adapt our support services in line with the current social restrictions. We are encouraging people to make use of our Online Support Group. The group meets via Skype every Tuesday afternoon between 2.30pm-3.30pm and is facilitated by our wonderful Support Services Officer, Cherry. If you would like more details on the online group, click here, or to register your interest, please email We will look at adding extra online groups should there be a demand for it.

We will also be setting up a Support Line for anyone who is struggling to access support and information. The support line will operate Monday to Thursday 11-3pm and Friday 11-2pm through both our Belfast and Derry offices. The phone numbers for these can be found below.

Belfast - 028 9035 7820 Derry - 028 7126 0602

AWARE’s Support Mail service can offer support and information is staffed daily. Please email

The below fundraising events have been postponed:

  • Abseil for AWARE Sunday 29th March 2020
  • Belfast Mood Walk- Sunday 17th May 2020

AWARE appreciates your ongoing support at this difficult time. We will continue to update you as the situation develops.
