Aware Defeat Depression warmed the hearts of chilly Christmas shoppers as they hosted a series of carol services in CastleCourt shopping centre in the week before Christmas. Five choirs from Belfast and beyond helped raise and amazing £1608.11 over four days from Monday, December 16 2013.

It was all part of our charity partnership with CastleCourt.

Belfast Community Gospel Choir, Lisburn Harmony Ladies Choir, 101 Music Choir and the choirs from Holy Cross Girls’ Primary School and Dundonald High School all gave up their time to help our fundraising effort.

All the money raised will go towards our support services and education programmes for people affected by depression.

Kieran, our Fundraising Officer, thanked everyone who took part, particularly all the volunteers who gave up their time in one of the busiest weeks of the year.

“I’d like to thank all the choirs and volunteers who helped us raise a fantastic amount of money,” he said.

“All of the choirs were fantastic and they all put so much hard work went in to preparing for the carol services.

“Every penny raised from the carols will go directly towards our services and education programmes to help people affected by depression.”
