AWARE will be holding the fifth in a series of public talks in The Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Main Street, Limavady on the 26th November 2015 at 7pm (refreshments at 6.45). As the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to helping those with depression, the charity hope that the public talks will help reduce the stigma of the illness of depression and encourage more people to talk about it.

AWARE believe that it is important that people with depression and those close to them, know how to access relevant and important information on the illness to help them better understand it, and help them in their journey to recovery.

AWARE will have experts in the field of mental health to talk about depression and explain the illness from a professional point of view as well as someone who has used their services and is now recovering from depression. Speaking at the event will be a carer giving a carers perspective on what it is like looking after someone with depression and a GP talking about their experience of assessing and treating depression. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the speakers and access further information about AWARE’s services.

AWARE has 23 support groups in Northern Ireland and we hope to open one in Limavady early in 2016.

If you are interested in coming along to the event or you would like further information, please get in touch with Mark based in our Belfast Office on 028 9035 7820, contact our helpline on 08451 202961.
