AWARE – the national depression charity for Northern Ireland, is reaching out to people affected by depression and bipolar disorder across Coalisland when it opens a permanent fortnightly Support Group in the town.

AWARE has 23 Support Groups across the North bringing invaluable peer-support to people experiencing similar problems so they can support each other and help one another.

The AWARE Coalisland Support Group will take place in the Mill Court on a Tuesday night from 7pm to 8:30pm with the group beginning on Tuesday 10 January 2017. The group is free to attend and no appointment is necessary so just turn up on the night and an AWARE facilitator will welcome you in with a cup of tea or coffee.

The purpose of an AWARE Support Group is to bring together people with depression and bipolar disorder to support each other and learn more about the illness and the treatments available. Attending a group also enables people to share experiences, discuss self-help strategies and coping skills that will help in the recovery process. Carers for people with depression are also welcomed to an AWARE Support Group.
