Our friends at ARKK, Experts in Financial Reporting, recently swapped their office chairs for spin bikes to raise funds and awareness for mental health services across Northern Ireland!

With the help of local gym giant and fellow AWARE supporter, Anytime Fitness, the team were able to host an incredibly successful spin relay race on one of the hottest days of the year!

Mary Tinnelly, Technical Sales Consultant at ARKK, said;

 “ARKK chose to partner with AWARE NI in early 2020, as people in NI are hugely impacted by poor mental health, be that directly or indirectly, and the work that AWARE NI do is invaluable.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, our fundraising opportunities were limited over the last 18 months. It was great to be back to our first event this year, a spin relay race, where 18 of us were split into teams of 3 to compete for the fastest lap times. The winning team completed their fasted three miles with a total time of 6 minutes 49 seconds, with the fastest mile completed in just 1 minute 55 seconds!

It was a fantastic day for the team - a great team-building opportunity which we have really missed during COVID-19, with the benefit of raising some money and awareness for such a great charity.

A thank you must go to Paddy Farrell & Matt Mackin in Anytime Fitness Belfast, who are always on hand to help us out with the organisation of such events. We’re already looking forward to the next one…just hoping this one isn’t in 30-degree heat!”

We’re excited to see what the team get up to next – with their spin relay race predicted to be the first of many fundraising events this year!
