THIS EVENT IS NOW OVER.
To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, AWARE is holding a Mood Walk in Derry/Londonderry on Friday 8th September 2017. The AWARE Mood Walk is starting from and finishing at the Foyle Arena and we are delighted to have the support from the Mayor, Cllr Maolíosa McHugh, who has made AWARE his chosen charity during his term of office.
Registration is from 5:30pm and from 6pm we are delighted to have entertainment from the fantastic Ruth McPhillips. We will also have a warm up for all participants before the Walk begins at 7pm.
'Mood Walkers' can choose between the 5km and 10km routes. That's either along the Greenway to the Foyle Bridge and back or over the Bridge, through Bay Park, along the river, over the Peace Bridge and back to the Arena. Walk, run, cycle - it's up to you.
After the all-important exercise will come more entertainment and we are planning children's entertainment, a BBQ and more.
Every pound raised will be invested in AWARE's vital support services which help people battling depression to overcome it.
Registration is £10 which includes your very own AWARE Mood Walk t-shirt and sponsorship forms! This is a sponsored walk to raise money for AWARE and the services we provide in the local area therefore we would encourage people to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship. You can set up a JustGiving page to help raise money online. For more information, speak to someone from the Fundraising Team using the contact details below.
