We understand that you can’t go and meet your friends in person, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get together virtually! If you are looking for something fun to do on the weekend with your friends, a virtual bingo night could be the answer. By supporting AWARE in the process you will be helping those living in Northern Ireland with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
Things you’ll need:
How to host a bingo night for AWARE:
Get your friends together (virtually) and decide when you want to hold your bingo night, we suggest choosing a theme for the evening, maybe get your best glad rags on or have a casual night in? You could also incorporate yellow into your outfit to show you’re supporting AWARE!
There are so many great ways to chat with your friends and family virtually! We suggest using Skype or Zoom as these let you share your screen easily with no limit on the number of people who can join. You can also use Facetime or the new smartphone app House Party!
We suggest choosing a bingo caller to ensure a smooth night of bingo fun! The bingo caller will generate the numbers, check the tickets and ensure there is no cheating.
You will need to organise bingo tickets for each of the players, Online Bingo have downloadable caller sheets and bingo tickets that each member can print out, click here to check it out. If you don’t have a printer you can grab a pen and paper and copy your ticket onto paper. The important thing to remember is to always be honest and make sure you've got the right ticket!
Ask your friends and family to donate to the AWARE JustGiving page, any amount you can give is really appreciated.
To play the game the bingo caller will need to use a number generator. The best one to use is Google's number generator, click here to check it out. You will choose the maximum number and that will generate the bingo numbers for you. The bingo caller should make a note of what numbers have been called out to check the winner’s ticket.
The person who marks off all 5 numbers of their bingo cards, wins! But in reality, you are all winners as you have raised money to support those in Northern Ireland living with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You all deserve to pat yourselves on the back!
Thanks for playing!
We really appreciate the support, funds raised will go to support those in Northern Ireland struggling with their mental health, particularly at this time.
