COVID-19 has changed our lives and impacted our mental health significantly. Join us from 5-10 October as we reflect on navigating change and managing our mental health through uncertainty. We have a variety of events and programmes for you to get involved in throughout the week and we'll be posting useful mental health and self-care resources to help you manage feelings of stress and anxiety during these challenging times.

What's On?

Free Mindfulness Sessions

Monday 5th - Friday 9th October 2020

AWARE Board Member, Helen McDonnell of Indigo Life Coaching is running a free 5-day Mindfulness Challenge!

There will be two drop-in mindfulness sessions per day which will be delivered via Zoom. The sessions will provide an introduction to Mindfulness and its benefits. They will also provide practical exercises to introduce into your daily routine to help you manage your mental health during this period of uncertainty and change.

You can attend as little or as many sessions as you wish. We'll be taking on the challenge and attending one session every day for five days, to introduce some positive change into our lives!

The sessions are free, with an optional donation to AWARE to support our work. To register, click here.

Helen McDonnell tells us how mindfulness has helped her manage her mental health through lockdown.

Mental Health Videos

This has been an extremely stressful time. It is totally normal to experience feelings of stress, anxiety and/or panic. Check out this video from AWARE Education & Training Officer, Marina McCully on how to calm yourself down during a panic/anxiety attack.

The Coronavirus pandemic has been a difficult and confusing time for young children. As our children adapt to change in their lives, it is important we check in with how they are feeling and teach them practices to improve their mental health. AWARE Mindfulness Trainers Noeleen Fitzgerald and Rachel Brady have demonstrated some simple mindfulness exercises taken from our Paws b mindfulness programme for primary school children.
